On Sunday, January 29th Colorado hosted its annual "Colorado MMA Awards" in Denver Colorado. Back in November, the committee assembled the 2011 nominees based on the years performance of all the MMA gyms within the state of Colorado, and were narrowed down to the top 6 in 20 different categories.

Infinite MMA was honored to be nominated in 3 coveted categories, and especially honored being the only gym from Northern Colorado represented. Our nominations were for "Coach of the Year", "Gym of the Year", and "Professional Male Fighter of the Year"; and this year we proudly brought home "Coach of the Year" for Adam Martinez and "Professional Male Fighter of the Year" for Ryan Martinez. WAY TO GO TEAM!!

Rodrigo Gracie back at Infinite MMA- February 2012

Congratulations to our fighter Ryan Martinez for winning his bout in the semi-finals of ProElites Heavyweight GrandPrix in Hawaii, featured on live television January 21st!

In December, IMMAA hosted its 7th annual holiday food drive. This year, the school collected 1,030 POUNDS of food which was donated to the Food Bank for Larimer County (www.foodbanklarimer.org)!

Congratulations to our fighter Nick Laney for defeating Larry Williams for the 155lb Professional Kickdown title on Saturday, December 3rd in Denver!!

Nick dominated the fight both from standing and on the ground winning in the first round with a "submission of the night" arm bar from the topside triangle position.

Over the extended weekend of November 18th, IMMAA's Adam Martinez had an awesome experience in LA- lots of great mat time at the all new Royce Gracie Academy with Rodrigo Gracie!

Congratulations to Team Infinite fighter Ryan Martinez for winning his featured bout in the ProElite Heavyweight Grand Prix on November 5th in Illinois! Ryan defeated the #1 picked Mark Ellis- a NCAA D1 Champ hailing out of AKA California and training partner of UFC Champion Cain Velasquez. Ryan will fight in round two of the tournament early in 2012 in Hawaii.

On Saturday October 22nd Team Infinite went 3-0 at No Mercy MMA 35: ANNIHILATION- all wins in the first round! Thomas Sandau made his fight debut against a much more seasoned opponent and won via arm bar in the first. Tommy Thompson won his professional fight as the co-main event via triangle choke. On Saturday, October 8th UFC Hall of Famer, renowned BJJ book author, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu LEGEND, and IMMAA professor Royce Gracie was back on the mats  to teach classes and evaluate students! As usual, it was another great day of training under our lineage in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu!! Everyone in attendance bettered their game, lots of students advanced a degree, and 10 new blue belts under the legendary Royce Gracie were promoted at IMMAA!!

On Saturday September 25th IMMAA's Adam Martinez refereed at UFC 135: Jones VS Rampage. Adam has reffed several UFC events, and as usual had a great time working with the big show.

On Sunday September 25th the legendary DUKE ROUFUS was back on the the mats at Infinite MMA for an amazing seminar!! Several lucky students got to spar with the man himself, and all of the students in attendance bettered their game with some slick new moves and combinations!

On Saturday August 27th Team Infinite had a great showing at the 2011 Colorado State Tournament! All ages and genders had stellar performances of heart and technique and in the end IMMAA took 4th overall in the State of Colorado. WAY TO GO TEAM!!!

On Saturday August 27th TWO of Team Infinites fighters made their professional debut- both Tommy Thompson and Nick Laney. Nick won in the first round via RNC and Tommy won his via 1st round submission. Before turning pro, Tommy had amassed an amateur record of 7-0 and Nick 9-1, both were considered to be within the top 5 ammys in the state for their respective divisions. This is no doubt the start of a very successful professional career for the both of them!

On Saturday August 20th Team Infinites Ryan Martinez won his professional fight in the first round via guillotine choke on the biggest show in the region- The Ring Of Fire, securing his place at the #1 ranked heavyweight in the State of Colorado!

In August, IMMAA's Adam Martinez spent an extended weekend touring a handful of the East Coast RGBJJ affiliates with Royce. Adam got in a lot of great mat time with Royce and many of his long time students. We look forward to having Royce back at our Academy in October!!

On Saturday, July 9th IMMAA hosted its 3rd Youth MMA promotion ceremony of 2011. Over 30 students advanced a rank, all displaying incredible exhibitions of heart and technique. Congratulations to all of our students promoted!!

June 18th- Pride veteran, K-1 veteran, ADCC World Champion, renowned BJJ book author, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu LEGEND, and IMMAA Professor Rodrigo Gracie was back on the mats at IMMAA to teach classes and evaluate students.

Everybody in attendance got a great opportunity to connect with our lineage in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and bettered their game with some slick new techniques. Congratulations to all of the students promoted! Many students advanced a degree, 5 new blue belts, and 2 new purple belts!

On Thursday, May 18th IMMAA's Chief Instructor Adam Martinez traveled to San Francisco to spend an extended weekend training with World Champion Crosley Gracie. While in town Adam also got the opportunity to work with some of the guys from RGJJ Fresno. Overall Adam had a great weekend training with some world class members and friends of Royces Network!

On Saturday May 14th, IMMAA's JJ Mondragon and Ryan Martinez were featured on Fight To Win: OUTLAWS. JJ secured his place as the #1, 135 pound fighter in the state by winning the Championship Belt, and Ryan made short work in his fight as the co-main event with a first round TKO.

Colorado State BJJ Championships

On Saturday May 7th Team Infinite traveled to Colorado Springs to compete at the 2011 Colorado State BJJ Championships. Team Infinite competitors ranged in age from 8 to 44, male and female, but what all of our competitors had in common was that EVERYBODY fought with amazing heart, had great technique, and were excellent representatives of GRACIE JIU-JITSU!

The majority of our competitors medaled, and overall Infinite MMA took 4th in the State as a team. As many gyms across the state combine their teams with teams from other gyms, Team Infinite is proud to have made it to the top 5 as a single location team. That pride however, pales in comparison to the pride we feel in our students.

In a state loaded with BJJ talent not only did our students do extremely well in their divisions, but they did extremely well in rising to exceptional challenges. We had girls that had to fight boys, men in their mid 40's have to face men 14 years younger than them, teenager boys with less than a year of training having to face opponents with over 5 years of training, and teenage girls competing in the adult women's divisions. These challenges are above and beyond the challenges presented in normal bracketing, and we couldn't be more proud of our students for rising to them.

Ring of Fire: BACKLASH

On April 16^th the biggest show in the region- The Ring of Fire returned with the first promotion of 2011 BACKLASH. IMMAA's Tommy Thompson took on #1 145lb in the State ranked Chad Romero, who had a record of 8-0 entering the fight. Tommy won in dominate fashion earning a TKO victory in the first round, bringing Tommy's record to 7-0.

Teaching abroad

In the last week of March, IMMAA Instructor Adam Martinez was invited to teach a class at Team Brasa's Affiliate Academy in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. While the language of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is universal, Adam conducted the entire seminar in Spanish. All the students had a great time learning techniques from a 16 year student of Royce Gracie, and Adam had a great time getting the opportunity to teach in his second language. Over all everything went so well that they planned to have Adam back in the future!

Fight to Win: MORTAL COMBAT RESULTS

On Friday, February 25^th Fight To Win MMA presented MORTAL COMBAT, which featured two IMMAA professional fighters- Ricky Johnson and Ryan Martinez! Team Infinite fighter Ryan M made short work of his opponent as the co-main event of the evening, earning the TKO victory in the first minute of the first round. Ricky J had a three round war; at one point having a triangle choke locked in that was stood up in a bad ref call. In the end Ricky fell short on points on the decision, but he will be back! Congratulations to both our fighters for representing our team with admirable heart and technique!

IMMAA's annual gathering Review

On Saturday, February 26^th IMMAA hosted its 16th annual gathering, celebrating the academy's accomplishments of the previous year, and our Chief Instructors 40^th birthday. This year’s gathering was held at Washington’s in Fort Collins- we had good food, good company, and overall great times! Thank you to everybody for another incredible year as an academy and for sharing the experience and celebration with us!

Royce's February visit review

On February 15th and 16th IMMAA spent two seminar filled days with our head Instructor Royce Gracie. As usual it was nothing short of phenomenal experience to connect with our lineage in the art of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. While Royce was here, he and Adam got in work with the Loveland Police Department, and also the U.S. Army soldiers at Fort Carson! Big congratulations to all of our students promoted by Royce. Next up, we will have Rodrigo Gracie back at the Academy in June- date to be announced soon!

The Party will run from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. All ages are welcome but parents be forwarned that there will be alcohol availible to people over 21, and it will be a "night club esq" setting.

After 9:00 p.m. all guests under the age of 18 will need to leave but everyone over 18 will be welcome to stay for good times at The Wash Bar if they wish!

Free appetizers will be served, and a DJ will keep will keep the music goin!

Duke Roufus at Infinite MMA Loveland

On Saturday January 29^th Team Infinite took their striking to the next level at an incredible 2 hour seminar with world renowned kickboxing coach Duke Roufus! Duke is coach to several stand out UFC fighters including Anthony Pettis, Pat Berry, and Alan Belcher. 4-Time Professional Heavyweight Kickboxing World Champion and crowd pleasing, fan favorite. Regarded as one of the "most knowledgeable American's on Muaythai and one of the world's top trainers of the sport."

 He is a 4 time Professional Heavyweight World Champion and regarded as "One of the most knowledgable Americans on Muay Thai and one of the Worlds top trainers in the sport."

IMMAA has officially joined forces with Duke and is now a proud member of the Roufus Kickboxing Association. This means our Academy can look forward to 2 visits a year from Duke, and our students can visit his main Academy in Milwaukee! We are tentatively planning Dukes next visit for August- exact date will be announced as soon as it is confirmed.

Infinite MMA nominee for “Colorado’s Best Gym 2010”

Infinite MMA Academy is one of the nominee’s for “Colorado’s Best Gym 2010”! Out of HUNDREDS of MMA gyms in the state of Colorado, IMMAA was voted into the top eight in the State, and is the only gym in the running from Northern Colorado. Team Infinite at the 2010 No-Gi WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

On Sunday, November 6th Team Infinite participated in the 2010 No-Gi World Championships in Los Angeles, California!

Adam M, Ricky J, Rory O and Tommy T all made the trip from Colorado, and Professor Rodrigo Gracie met them at the tourney to coach. The team had a stellar showing in some deep divisions stacked with the worlds best talent. Rory O and Adam M both brought home the bronze medal in their respective divisions. Congrats to all of our competitors for rising to the challenge of competing with the worlds best and doing a phenomenal job representing IMMAA and GRACIE JIU-JITSU!

IMMAA Chief Instructor Adam Martinez Ref's the WEC

On Thursday September 30^th the WEC made its way to the State of Colorado for the first time ever! WEC: Aldo VS Gamburyan took place in Broomfield at the 1^st Bank Center, and IMMAA Chief Instructor Adam Martinez was in the center of the action working as referee! The fights aired live on the VERSUS channel.

2010 Girls S-Cup World Tournament- Japan RESULTS

Congratulations to Team Infinite fighter Kate Martinez for making it to the semi-finals at the 2010 Girls S-Cup World Tournament in Tokyo, Japan!

Kate won her first fight against Muay Thai World Champion Zaza Sor.Aree via a choke that put her opponent TO SLEEP in the 3rd round. For the next fight in the tournament and semi-final bout, Kate had a phenomenal 3-round war with the defending and reigning S-Cup champion RENA, but in the end fell just short on points. Kate was the only non-Japanese fighter to advance, and had an increadible performance in both her bouts!!on-Japanese fighter to advance to the semi-finals, and had an incredible performance in both her bouts!
